Is my spot secure once Ive paid my deposit?
Your deposit, once received, will secure your spots, so no-one else can steal your spot. If for example we receive 3 deposits, this will secure 3 spots, with 7 still left open for anyone else to book.

How do we transfer the money?
You just need to inform your bank you want to make an international wire transfer - they will ask for the SWIFT code. We will provide you with all bank account details at the time of booking.

What time will Kaimana depart Padang Harbour and what time do we get back in?
Generally Kaimana departs early evening, but it depends on the tides, usually between 6.00pm – 10.00pm. It is best to try to get to Padang by the afternoon, to give you time to relax and eat before boarding. Kaimana will arrive back in Padang Harbour in the early hours of the morning, depending on the tides. You will have enough time to get the earliest flight out of Padang.

I love my beer - are you able to have extra available?
No problem, we always have extra beer on board just in case. If you go over your quota of 3 per day, you can pay for this at the end to the surf guide.

Should I bring $USD cash and convert in Padang or can you use credit cards anywhere?
We advise passengers to bring US dollars with them. Please always try to have small notes for use in Padang and out at the Mentawai Islands. You can use credit cards in Padang at the cash machines, but this can be a bit of a hassle and the exchange rates are not good, so best to change this before arriving

Do I need a visa for Indonesia?
You need a visitor’s visa for anywhere in Indonesia. You will receive your 30 day visa upon arrival at the airport and the cost is currently US$25.00 (amount can change anytime). It is best to have this in US currency or you may end up paying more using their exchange rates.

My flight arrives the day before the charter departs, where can I stay?
We can help you organise a hotel room either at the 4 star Bumi Hotel (approx US$50 per room) or the 2 star Hotel Ina Muara (approx US$25 per room).

Can I buy Duty Free in Padang?
It is best to get this before you get into Padang.

When I arrive at Padang airport, how do I get to the boat?
When you arrive at Padang airport, there will be a Surging Waters representative waiting for you with a sign ‘Kaimana’, he will take you and your boards (in another van) to meet the surf guide or to your hotel.

Can we get a hotel room just for the day while we wait for departure?
Yes, we can book you a half-day room, which costs approx US$30. This can be shared between your whole group.

I am a vegetarian and I don’t eat any seafood, is this a problem?
No, our top chef can cater for everyone. You just need to advise us when filling in the ‘Information Pack’, when making a booking.
